Low-pressure boiler

How can I recognize a low-pressure boiler?

If your kitchen faucet has three connections and there is only one angle valve under your sink, then your hot water supply is most likely regulated by a low-pressure boiler. This is still common in older apartments. If you have a low-pressure boiler, you cannot install a tabletop filter.

What should be considered with low-pressure boilers?

Countertop filters cannot be used in combination with low-pressure boilers. Please note that this could cause the boiler to burst. The Local Water cannot accept any liability for this. If you want to use an under-sink filter in combination with a low-pressure boiler, you will need a special 4-way fitting or a separate tap for filtered water.

What filter do I need for a low-pressure boiler?

Since only under-sink filter systems can be used with low-pressure boilers, we recommend the Base, Luna, Fusion, Illumina, or Infinity filters from our range. You will also need a suitable single tap or a suitable 4-way special fitting for low-pressure boilers. We will go into more detail about these two options in the section below.

Installation options

Single-lever faucet

Installing an under-sink filter system with a separate single tap bypasses the low-pressure boiler. It is installed using a T-piece, which is inserted directly behind the cold water angle valve. For easy installation, you only need to drill a small additional hole in the kitchen countertop (sink).

4-way special fitting

Your existing faucet can easily be replaced with a special 4-way faucet for low-pressure boilers. You will then have two separate outlets: one for filtered water and one for unfiltered water. With this option, you do not need to drill an additional hole, which makes installation easier.
