Umkehrosmosefilter und Membranen
Replacement filters and membranes for reverse osmosis systems
Our reverse osmosis systems work with three filter stages. The pre-filter protects the membrane from chlorine and particles, the membrane filters the water, and the post-filter at the end prevents germs from entering the system from the outlet side. Here you will find all replacement parts for these stages.
Which RO replacement filter fits which system?
| TLW 4 | TLW 7 | |
|---|---|---|
| Pre-filter (every 6 months) | Core+ OS | Core+ OS |
| Membrane (approx. 5–8 years) | Membrane TLW X | Membrane TLW 7 |
| Post-filter (every 12 months) | Core M OS | Core M OS |
Core+ OS: activated carbon pre-filter for RO systems
The Core+ OS is a special version of our activated carbon block filter Core+ and the first stage in all our reverse osmosis systems. It also works as a sediment filter and removes many pollutants – above all chlorine, which would damage the membrane. The activated carbon is made from coconut shells. Replacing it every 6 months noticeably extends the life of the membrane.
Core M OS: post-filter against recontamination
The Core M OS is the last stage: an activated carbon block with an integrated hollow fibre membrane. It sits between the membrane and the tap and protects the clean-water side against recontamination. It is replaced every 12 months – without tools, the housing can be opened by hand.
Reverse osmosis membranes TLW X and TLW 7
Our membranes let almost only water molecules pass. They are manufactured exactly to our specifications and each carries its own serial number. The Membrane TLW X is used in the TLW 4, which works without electricity. The Membrane TLW 7 is a large high-performance membrane that delivers approx. 2 litres per minute together with the compressor of the TLW 7.
When does an RO membrane need to be replaced?
On average a membrane lasts 5–8 years; with regular filter changes, 10 years and more are not unusual. Two values show you when it is time:
- Conductivity / TDS: the value of the filtered water should be at least around 90% lower than that of the incoming water. You can measure it with a TDS or conductivity meter – on the TLW 7 you read it directly on the display.
- Output: if the amount of filtered water drops significantly, a membrane change may also be due.
Pre- and post-filters are part of the filter service: you are reminded in good time and receive the right cartridges automatically and free of shipping costs.
